greenhouse cabinet

so the new cabinet has been announced. and going by the look of things, it seems that PM lee had taken quite the green approach when appointing his ministers!

don't believe me? well, take a look at some of his captain-planet-inspired decisions:

reduce
the total number of full-fledged ministers has decreased from 14 to 11, with the exodus of mah bow tan, raymond lim, wong kan seng and george yeo, and with the appointment of heng swee keat as the new education minister.

reuse
shanmugam is now law minister AND foreign minister.
tharman is now DPM, finance minister, manpower minister AND also chairman of the MAS.
teo chee hean is now DPM, home affairs minister, co-ordinating minister for national security AND also in-charge of the public service division, the national population and talent division and the national climate change secretariat (see what i mean by going green?).
as for PM himself, in addition to his primary role, he is also the chairman of the GIC.

recycle
MM lee is now a senior advisor to the GIC.
SM goh is now also a senior advisor to the GIC, and also appointed as emeritus (???) senior minister.
ex-health minister khaw boon wan is now minister for national development.
ex-manpower minister gan kim yong is now health minister.
ex-minister for environment and water resources yaacob is now minister for information, communication and the arts.
ex-minister for information, communication and the arts lui tuck yew is now transport minister AND second minister for foreign affairs.
ex-community development, youth and sports minister vivian is now the new minister for environment and water resources.
ex-education minister ng eng hen is now defence minister.

maybe the PAP should change their logo to a green crop circle with a green lightning-shaped carrot as well to symbolise their new earth-friendly outlook.
